Resetting a Xiaomi air purifier filter with your phone
Xiaomi air purifier filters have an RFID tag that counts usage hours. When it hits 0%, the purifier asks you for a new filter, even if the old one could be cleaned and reused. The counter can be reset from a phone with NFC. All you need is the reset code, and this page generates it for you.
1. Read the tag's serial number
- Install NFC Tools (iOS / Android).
- Open it and tap Read.
- Hold your phone against the filter's RFID tag.
- Copy the Serial number, which looks like
04:A0:3C:AA:1E:70:80.
2. Generate your reset code
3. Write the code to the filter
- In NFC Tools, tap Other, then Advanced NFC Commands.
- Agree to the disclaimer.
- Paste the reset code into the Data field.
- Tap Send command and hold your phone near the tag.
Put the filter back in. The purifier should now show it at 100%.
A word of caution
Resetting the counter doesn't clean the filter. Vacuum or replace the pre-filter and check the HEPA media yourself. A saturated filter won't clean the air, whatever the percentage says. You do this at your own risk.
